Network On-Site Visits
On May 3, 2023, affected facilities were sent an email from Executive Director, Brandy Vinson notifying them that Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is requiring ESRD Networks to provide on-site technical assistance to 25% of the dialysis facilities in the service area. In Network 5 that affects approximately 113 facilities in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. Facilities have been prioritized based on national level Area Deprivation Index Score, i.e. located in the neighborhoods with the least resources.
The Network is NOT conducting inspections on these site visits.
Facilities will be provided with as much notice as possible about the specific date their visit is scheduled, generally at least one-months’ notice. During visits, the Network will want to speak with each member of the IDT, including the medical director and a patient representative.
