Vocational Rehabilitation
Chronic kidney disease presents many challenges for individuals who require dialysis in the United States. For many, the desire to remain active and feel connected to others is significant. Maintaining employment, re-training for a job that can meet the individuals new schedule or volunteerism are ways to remain active and improve quality of life. While employment is not possible for all dialysis patients, it is a practical goal for many patients and should be encouraged.
