Quality Insights Shares Expertise at East Central APIC Chapter Meeting

On September 20, 2024, Quality Insights presented an educational session at the East Central Chapter meeting of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). Titled "Best Practices for the Respiratory Season," the presentation provided valuable guidance for tackling the challenges of the 2024-2025 respiratory virus season. In addition to vaccine updates, the presentation highlighted infection control measures designed to curb the spread of respiratory viruses in healthcare environments. Practical strategies for outbreak management were shared, offering attendees actionable steps to protect their facilities during the upcoming season.

The event was attended by 35 healthcare professionals, including infection preventionists, nurses, and industry leaders, fostering an exchange of knowledge. Besides the presentation by Quality Insights, two additional sessions added depth to the meeting:

• PA Project Firstline showcased a new and innovative "infection control escape room," blending learning with interactive problem-solving to reinforce best practices.
• The Masonic Lodge of Elizabethtown pharmacist delivered an insightful presentation on antibiotic stewardship, underscoring the importance of responsible antibiotic use in combating resistance and improving patient outcome

The meeting highlighted the importance of maintaining high COVID-19 vaccination rates in healthcare settings to prevent severe illness and protect at-risk populations, and Quality Insights is proud to have equipped professionals with the knowledge and tools to navigate another challenging respiratory season.
