Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) affects millions of Americans and poses a significant public health challenge, particularly in regions where diabetes, hypertension, and obesity are prevalent. Early detection is crucial to preventing CKD’s progression, yet many individuals remain undiagnosed until the disease has advanced. In response, Quality Insights has partnered with healthcare professionals and community organizations to develop resources and programs that empower people to take control of their kidney health.
To address gaps in awareness, Quality Insights developed the “Chronic Kidney Disease: Are You at Risk?” printable resource. This tool defines CKD, explains its symptoms and risk factors, and includes a QR code linked to an online CKD risk calculator. The resource has been distributed at wellness workshops, health fairs, and through The Neighborhood Buzz newsletter, allowing individuals to easily assess their risk and take proactive steps toward early detection.
In addition to this, Quality Insights collaborated with Dr. Edward T. Hovick to create the vlog “All About Chronic Kidney Disease.” With over 7.9k views, the vlog educates the public on CKD’s stages, risk factors, early signs, and testing options, providing expert knowledge in an engaging and accessible format. This digital resource ensures that vital information about CKD reaches a wider audience, particularly in underserved areas.
